ODDS AND ENDS
To help keep clutter under control, set aside one bowl or basket in a central location to temporarily house small objects that have no current home.
Assign convenient permanent locations for small restless items that would ohterwise end up on a tabletop or be mislaid: a hook near the door for keys that you always take when you go out; a small dish on the bureau top to collect loose change or earings; a mug on the desk to hold pens and pencils.
If messy housemates are a problem, toss their out of place belongings in a big cardboard box. When asked where you put an item indicate the box.
This should make them think .....Is she throwing this away ....ummm I better pick up the box and take it to my room or else..........
And my thought is you are absolutely correct!!!
