AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION:
Instead of spending hours a year trying to remove felt tip marker writing and drawing from walls, spend a couple of minutes putting the markers out of reach of small children. It's also a good idea to restrict potential troublemakers, such as crayons, paints, and clay, to a specified area.
To avoid frequent cleanups of your oven or your range top, choose large enough pots and pans for your recipes so that the food doesn't boil or slop over.
Confine eating and drinking to certain specified areas in your home. Supply coasters for drinks and small plates for snacks. Don't fill glasses or cups to the rim.
When your entertaining guests, try not to serve crumbly or drippy finger food.
